LENS PAVILION

2015

Athens, Greece

By changing 8 different variables extracted from ‘Athens Charter(1933)’ a city will react accordingly. A single wheel on the cast machine will represent one variable and by turning it clockwise, the implied variable will have a better condition. Simultaneously, as the wheel turns, the space for that variable will also become bigger. Through this process, the visitors will experience the significants of a small change in a city to the whole urban condition.

Each of the model with different variables will be casted into 8 concrete pavilion scattered throughout Acropolis. Models with bigger space (better housing condition) will have a bigger aperture to bring more light into the space because of the elastic fabric from the cast machine.
