A new stadium for Boston Red Sox Minor league affiliation, Pawtucket Red Sox faced major opposition from the citizens of Providence where they decided to move it location to downtown. Using tax money to fund the stadium was the strongest resistance, however the design was also privatizing the property and the river, isolating it as a island. Therefore my objective was to create a park with minimum obstruction of views and circulation from the stadium as well as working as an object to enjoy from the city life.

By creating minimal structure and layers without creating heavy walls, the stadium becomes a framing of the skyline of providence. Furthermore, designing the stadium to hold variety of different events such as soccer, commencement and concerts was crucial.  Carefully investigating different sizes for these events and incorporating it allows for the citizens to accept the stadium as a community property.
